DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. A homeowner can clear weep holes with a pipe cleaner, vacuum the track, and confirm the lock engages fully. That’s maintenance, not repair, and it prevents bigger problems.

What we don’t recommend: removing a sash with a failed balance, cutting out a fixed IGU, or adjusting impact-rated hardware. The balance spring is under tension and can release suddenly; the IGU is heavy glass in a fragile edge seal; and any modification to impact-rated components voids the Miami-Dade NOA certification.
