Cover Driveway & Pavers: The West Palm Beach Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Cover-compatible driveway and paver systems in West Palm Beach, with typical installed pricing running $7,000-$18,000 for paver driveway installations and $3,500-$11,000 for paver patio work depending on substrate condition and pattern complexity. Most Cover paver replacements and repairs can be scheduled within 24-48 hours, and we carry common Cover-compatible base materials and edge restraints on our trucks. Homeowners usually discover a Cover driveway or paver failure when settling creates visible dips after rain, edge restraints pull away from the border, or individual pavers rock underfoot because the bedding layer has washed out beneath them.

Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover manufactures paver systems across several residential lines, and matching the right components matters because the edge restraint profile and bedding sand spec vary by series. The Cover Classic series uses a 60mm paver thickness with a snap-edge restraint system, while the Cover Pro line steps up to 80mm thickness and requires a heavier-duty aluminum edging anchored at closer intervals. You’ll find the series designation stamped on the paver’s edge or molded into the surface texture on units manufactured after 2019. Earlier Cover pavers may carry only a color code, in which case we measure thickness, check the chamfer profile, and match against our sample library.

On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Cover specifically: Cover’s own edge restraints and bedding compounds are available through select distributors, but we’ve found that Belgard’s comparable edge systems and Techo-Bloc’s bedding sands meet the same ICPI installation standards at lower unit cost. We source both and will quote either, with the spec written into the scope so you know what you’re getting. The compatibility gotcha to watch for is Cover’s 2016-2018 production run, which used a non-standard 55mm thickness that doesn’t seat properly in standard 60mm edge restraints without a shimmed bedding layer.

Signs Your Cover Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

Signs Your Cover Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
  • Pavers rock or shift underfoot. This usually means the bedding sand layer has washed out or compacted unevenly, often because the joint sand failed and allowed water to migrate downward. In West Palm Beach, we see this accelerate when sprinkler systems overspray the driveway and the sandy native soil underneath doesn’t drain fast enough.
  • Visible settling or low spots after rain. Water pooling in specific areas indicates the base layer has degraded or was inadequately compacted during original installation. On properties near the Intracoastal, the high water table can soften base materials that would perform fine inland.
  • Edge restraints pulling away from the border. The spikes or anchors have corroded or the restraint itself has cracked from UV exposure and thermal cycling. Cover’s older plastic edge systems are particularly susceptible to this after seven to ten years of Florida sun.
  • Weeds growing through joints despite fresh polymeric sand. This signals the joint sand bed is too shallow or the pavers have shifted enough to open gaps wider than 1/4 inch, which polymeric sand cannot bridge effectively.
  • Pavers sound hollow when tapped. The bedding layer has eroded from beneath, leaving a void. This progresses to cracking under vehicle load, especially on Cover installations where the original base was only 4 inches of crushed concrete instead of the 6-inch minimum we specify for driveways.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here is what Cover driveway and paver work costs in West Palm Beach, with parts and labor separated in our written quotes:

Service Price Range
Paver driveway installation (new) $7,000-$18,000
Concrete driveway installation $4,500-$12,000
Asphalt driveway paving $3,500-$9,000
Driveway replacement (remove and reinstall) $5,000-$14,000
Driveway sealing $250-$700
Paver patio installation $3,500-$11,000

The range driver is almost always substrate condition. If we pull up existing Cover pavers and find the base intact, we can relay the same units with new bedding sand and joint material, landing at the lower end. If the base has failed or was never built to ICPI spec, we excavate to grade, install geotextile fabric, and build up 6 inches of compacted crushed stone in lifts. Every quote is a flat price with a written scope, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to the finished surface. Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, that price is locked before anyone touches a tool.

DIY or Call Us?

There is safe owner inspection and there is work that requires proper equipment and sequencing. You can check whether pavers rock, whether joints are wide enough to accept a quarter, and whether edge restraints are visibly cracked or displaced. Document what you find with photos, which is useful for any contractor you call.

Where DIY goes wrong with Cover paver systems is in the base repair. Excavating even a small section requires maintaining the slope for drainage, compacting the base in 2-inch lifts with a plate compactor rated for the job, and resetting the bedding sand to a consistent 3/4-inch depth before relaying. Get any of these wrong and the repair fails within a season. We also stock Cover-compatible edge restraints and bedding compounds on our trucks, which most homeowners cannot source in less-than-pallet quantities.
