DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. An owner can check the Tuff Shed serial plate, measure the rough opening (width, height, and jamb depth), and confirm whether the glass is tempered by looking for the etched mark in the corner. You can also verify the door swing and note whether the threshold is integral to the jamb or a separate replaceable piece. What goes wrong fast is the removal. Tuff Shed windows are nailed through the fin into the wall panel with ring-shank nails that don’t back out cleanly; prying without supporting the panel face dents the siding. Doors are heavier than they look, and the steel slab on a 32″ pre-hung unit runs 85-95 pounds. The real risk, though, is the structural connection. Tuff Shed wall panels are engineered for the original window or door size; cutting a larger opening without adding a header can sag the roof line. We don’t recommend DIY on door replacements or any opening modification.
