I started this company in 2007 after watching too many jobs go sideways over handshake pricing and vanishing crews. Seventeen years and 4,000-plus projects later, the thing that still keeps me up at night is the same: making sure the number we write down is the number you pay, and that the crew who sold you the job is the crew who finishes it. I hold a Florida Certified Building Contractor license and spend most mornings between the West Palm Beach office and active job sites, usually with coffee that’s gone cold because I stopped to check a roof deck nailing pattern or a tile shower membrane lap. I grew up in construction, but I learned pricing discipline from a stint in commercial HVAC where every change order had a purchase order number and no exceptions. That administrative rigor is what Haven acquired us for, and it’s what Clause 1 of the Haven Standard demands: the price is written before anyone starts. On weekends you’ll find me fishing the Loxahatchee or arguing with my wife about whether a 1978 Florida ranch can ever really be “open concept.”

He’s been with Rowan four years, previously dispatching for a commercial HVAC fleet, so he understands that “emergency” in Florida usually involves water coming in somewhere it shouldn’t. Darnell schedules every West Palm Beach estimate, routes the crews, and manages the photo record archive so customers get their documentation within 24 hours of job completion. He’s the one who catches when a permit hasn’t cleared Palm Beach County before a start date, or when a specialty order from Belgard or Techo-Bloc is running behind and the driveway crew needs rerouting. Elena is OSHA-10 certified and working toward her NAHB Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist credential. She grew up in a family that renovated Lake Worth cottages, so she’s seen what Florida humidity does to unventilated wall cavities and she’s vocal about it.
